I named the restaurant "Nico" not after myself but in honour of my nonni (grandparents). They spent most of their lives in Calabria, Italy and have passed down their passion for honest, healthy and flavourful eating on to my parents and to me. They also taught us much about hospitality. Growing up our home was always ready for someone to pop by and visit unannounced, and if they were the slightest bit hungry, well then a full meal would be presented, with a smile no less. We loved when people came over and we made sure they left with a belly full of pasta, veal, pastries or gelato, wine, amaro and grappa. That love of companionship came from my nonni who I happened to be named after. My name is Nick, both my grandfathers were named Nicola and both my grandmothers were named Nicoletta. So I took the first four letters of all their names for my restaurant. What's your story?.
